Doug Valverde
MMSF OPERATIONS, FUNDRAISING & BOARD MEMBER
Doug is the eldest son of Daniel and Bernice Valverde. He recently visited Santa Cruz, Bolivia, to see the fund's work firsthand. Doug lives in Normal, IL, with his wife and three sons. He works as a speech-language pathologist at a dual-language elementary school, where he uses his Spanish skills daily.

Michael Valverde
MMSF TREASURER, OFFICER & BOARD MEMBER
Mike has been an immigration professional for nearly 30 years and started his consulting firm in 2025. He is the youngest son of MMSF founder Daniel Valverde and lives in Maryland with his wife and three children.

Jeremy Weber
MMSF BOARD MEMBER
Jeremy is a professor at the University of Pittsburgh's School of Public and International Affairs. His interest in Latin America—especially the Andes—began during a college study abroad program in Ecuador. He is a nephew of MMSF founder Daniel Valverde.

Alejandro Escobar
MMSF BOARD MEMBER
Alejandro is an economist at the Inter-American Development Bank, focusing on Latin American small and medium enterprises. He lived in Bolivia for eight years, helped launch MMSF, and has served on its board since 2005, championing entrepreneurship across South America.

Beatriz Nogales
MMSF PROGRAM MANAGER
Beatriz oversees operations in Bolivia. An entrepreneur in real estate and pharmaceuticals, she supported the Foundation's early fundraising efforts in the 1990s and officially joined in 2024. Based in Santa Cruz, she regularly travels to Moro Moro and Vallegrande to stay connected with scholarship recipients.
