Jesus & Liliana

12/05/2021

MMSF continues to host students in Santa Cruz and Vallegrande, Bolivia. This past year, there have been three graduations! In Santa Cruz, Jesus Vargas earned his degree in civil engineering, and Liliana Aguado Peña graduated with a dual degree in pharmacy and biochemistry.

Your past gifts made it possible! Please remember that the youth of Moro Moro have virtually no chance at a higher education without this scholarship.

Building for the Future

The MMSF endowment continues to grow. At the same time, we provide full tuition, room, and board for our deserving Moro Moro scholars. MMSF maintains a property for student housing in Santa Cruz and recently made several long-overdue repairs. The front gate has been repaired, the house has received a new coat of paint, and we have purchased a new kitchen table.

Where in the World is Moro Moro?

Moro Moro, our father's hometown, is set in the eastern foothills of the Andes in Bolivia, South America. The town is a 12-hour bus ride from the nearest large city. Moro Moro is rich in culture but lacking in opportunity and financial means. A few years ago my father, Daniel Valverde, and some friends started a scholarship fund to address these needs. Your donation provides an opportunity for a bright young scholar to continue their education.

We need your help now to continue this scholarship.

We expect operating costs to remain around $1,400 per student.

This amount covers everything from classes to transportation to housing (including new paint!) What an incredible bargain! Your gift will have a direct impact on the lives of deserving young scholars like Jesus and Liliana. Thank you for your support in this most vital effort.

Times are a-changing, but the Moro Moro Scholarship Fund (MMSF) continues to provide opportunities for the most deserving students from Moro Moro, Bolivia, and surrounding rural communities. This year, we supported 10 students on two campuses, including our first-ever graduate from the Vallegrande campus, our most recent site!
