Student Stories

Three Moro Moro Scholars are enrolled in the university in 2003.

  • Aida, selected in 2000 as the first Moro Moro Scholar and now a third year medical student, had the following to say when asked about life at the university and her first year of studies:

“I've gotten to know new cultures and customs, and I've leaved to live on my own. I've learned many of the basic skills in my field of medicine. The first year was very difficult, with the change from high school to the university-the change in atmosphere and missing my home.”

Aida is on schedule to graduate in 2005 with a degree in medicine and will work as a medical doctor.

  • Agustin, selected in 2001 as the second Moro Moro Scholar and now a second year agronomy student said that his experience at the university has changed him:

“I've gotten to know new people, learned and shared different ways of living, and have overcome my initial shyness and fear. I've acquired the basic foundations of knowledge about my field of agriculture and I've developed as a person both morally and spiritually.”
